Our Privacy Commitment

At ZeroAds, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our Chrome extension.

Simple Summary: We don't collect, store, or share any of your personal data. Period.

Information We Do NOT Collect

ZeroAds is designed with privacy as a core principle. We explicitly do NOT collect:

• Browsing history or website URLs you visit
• Personal information (name, email, address, etc.)
• IP addresses or location data
• Search queries or form data
• Cookies or tracking identifiers
• Usage statistics or analytics
• Any other personally identifiable information

Information We Do Collect

ZeroAds collects minimal data necessary for the extension to function:

• Ads Blocked Counter: A local count of blocked ads stored only on your device. This number never leaves your browser.
• Extension State: Whether the ad blocker is enabled or disabled, stored locally in your browser.

Important: All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. Nothing is transmitted to our servers because we don't have any servers.

How ZeroAds Works

ZeroAds uses Chrome's declarativeNetRequest API to block ads at the browser level:

• Ad blocking happens entirely within your browser
• No data is sent to external servers
• No third-party services are used
• All processing is local and private

Data Storage

The only data stored by ZeroAds is:

• Stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API
• Never synced across devices
• Never transmitted over the internet
• Deleted when you uninstall the extension

Third-Party Services

ZeroAds does not integrate with any third-party services for:

• Analytics or tracking
• Advertising or monetization
• Data collection or processing
• User authentication or accounts

We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking service.

Permissions Explained

ZeroAds requests the following Chrome permissions:

declarativeNetRequest

Allows the extension to block network requests (ads) before they reach your browser. This is the core functionality of the ad blocker.

storage

Allows the extension to store your preferences (enabled/disabled state) and the ads blocked counter locally on your device.

tabs

Allows the extension to update the badge counter showing how many ads have been blocked.

host_permissions: <all_urls>

Allows the extension to block ads on all websites. Without this permission, the extension couldn't function on most sites.

Note: Despite having access to all URLs, ZeroAds never reads, collects, or transmits any data from the pages you visit.

Data Security

Since ZeroAds doesn't collect or transmit any data:

• There are no servers that could be hacked
• There are no databases that could leak
• There is no data that could be stolen
• Your privacy is protected by design

Children's Privacy

ZeroAds does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we don't collect any data at all, the extension is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to Privacy Policy

If we make any changes to this Privacy Policy, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top
• Post the new policy on this page
• Notify users through the Chrome Web Store if changes are significant

Open Source

ZeroAds is designed to be transparent. The code is available for review, and we encourage security researchers and privacy advocates to audit our extension.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect your data, there's no data to:

• Access or download
• Correct or update
• Delete or remove
• Object to processing of

Your data stays on your device, under your control, always.
